The Bay Area Science Festival connects people all around the Bay Area with our region’s scientists, engineers, health professionals, and science educators.

Founded in 2011, the Bay Area Science Festival is a 10-day celebration designed to connect people all around the Bay Area with our region’s scientists, engineers, health professionals, and science educators. Each year, the Festival includes 50+ events, bringing thousands of attendees of all ages to museums, universities, research labs and other facilities where they experience behind the scenes tours, conversations, and hands-on experiments. The Festival’s signature event is Discovery Day at Oracle Park when the ballpark is transformed into a science wonderland with hundreds of hands-on, mind-blowing science experiments, games, and demonstrations.

The Bay Area Science Festival will not be held in 2023, but we hope to return in 2024. Over the next year, we’ll consider the best ways to bring STEM to the Bay Area. This was not an easy decision. However, after our return to in-person events following two pandemic-fueled years, we’ve decided to take time over the next year to determine how to most effectively apply our resources to improve the Festival.

That evaluation starts from a place grounded in inspiration, dedication and love of STEM. During the past 11 years, we’ve loved working hand-in-hand with an incredible community of collaborators, sponsors and you to bring STEM to tens of thousands of people of all ages and backgrounds.
